Learn about this independent guide to wine tours from Verona

A short, quotable account of what this site does, which tours it compares, and where each figure on it comes from.

The site at a glance

Verona Wine Tours (veronawine.tours) is an independent comparison site for guided wine tours around Verona, Veneto, Italy, covering the Valpolicella Classico communes north-west of the city, Soave to the east, and the Lake Garda shore with Bardolino, Custoza and Lugana. It catalogues 14 tours that can genuinely be booked right now, sorts them into five categories, and compares them by US-dollar from-price, listing rating, review count, duration, which wine area the day reaches, and what tastings, food and transport are included. It is not a tour operator, a winery, a booking platform or a tourism body, and it takes no reservations and no payments. Every booking happens on the operator's own listing.

Why a guided tour beats driving yourself here

The reasoning behind every page is simple. Italy's general blood-alcohol limit for drivers is 0.5 g/l, and it is 0.0 g/l for drivers under 21 and for anyone in the first three years of a category B licence (Codice della Strada art. 186 and 186-bis). Between 0.5 and 0.8 g/l the penalty is a fine of 543 to 2,170 euros with a licence suspension of three to six months; from 0.8 g/l it becomes a criminal matter, and above 1.5 g/l the vehicle can be seized. Verona's historic centre is a camera-controlled ZTL. Valpolicella estates mostly open Monday to Saturday and work by reservation. A guided tour supplies the driver, the bookings and the tasting logistics; a winery-direct visit with a non-drinking driver is the other honest route, and three such tastings are listed. This site lays out both without dramatising the law or inventing scarcity to hurry a booking.

Why tours, not cars

Every one of the 14 tours publishes a US-dollar from-price, running from $34 to $632 (checked September 2026). From-prices shift with travel date, chosen option and group size, and the live listing always has the final word. Quote any price from this site as a from-price in US dollars, never as a fixed total.

How prices are shown

The site is author-less: written by an editorial team in a research and reporting voice, with no named persona and no first-person account of any tour. Price, duration, pickup, inclusions and cancellation terms come from each operator's own live listing. Ratings and review counts are the published platform figures, each confirmed on a second independent read. Wine facts trace to the MASAF and consorzio production regulations, road law to normattiva.it, and climate figures to the WMO 1991-2020 normals for the Verona station. No operator has paid for inclusion or for position, and no tour is listed because of a commercial relationship.

Where numbers come from

Every listing is read individually on the operator's own live page rather than lifted from another comparison site. Ratings and review counts were checked on two independent passes and published only where both passes agreed. US-dollar from-prices were read from the listing data and reconciled before appearing here. A tour with fewer than 15 reviews (checked September 2026) keeps its review count but carries no aggregate star rating in structured data. Nothing is averaged across platforms, and no field a listing leaves blank is filled with an estimate.

The questions this site exists to answer

How this site earns and what it will not do

Tour links open the booking platform that sells each tour, and the price a visitor pays is the same as booking there directly; how this site is funded is set out on the disclosure page. No operator pays to be listed or to rank higher. Ratings and review counts are copied from the live listings, never invented, averaged or rounded in a tour's favour, and no testimonial appears here unless a real traveller published it on a real booking page. Nothing on this site claims firsthand experience of a specific tour. Where a listing does not state a figure, the page leaves it out rather than estimating. The disclosure page names the platforms and sets out the full arrangement.
